Abstract: "Heavy quark production at high parton densities".
We discuss (i) open charm and (ii) inclusive $J/\\Psi$ production in pA and AA collisions
by considering effects of gluon saturation in the wave-functions of colliding nuclei. We argue that the
leading production mechanism in proton-(heavy) nucleus and nucleus-nucleus collisions is different from the one operating in
hadron-hadron interactions. We show that the cold nuclear matter effects are responsible for a significant part
of $J/\\Psi$ suppression observed in experimental data.
