Abstract: Gamma-Hadron Correlations in STAR
We present the STAR results for the gamma-jet measurement in 200 GeV Au+Au collision from Run-7
using a level2 high-p$_T$ photon trigger. The same measurements from p+p collisions at the same energy
from Run-6 are performed as a baseline for studies of medium effects. The transverse shower shape
analysis in the STAR Barrel Electromagnetic Calorimeter is used to discriminate between the direct photons and
photons from neutral pion decays at high p$_T$. A comparison between the direct $gamma-$jet correlations and
$pi0-$jet correlations is also shown. We discuss how these measurements constrain the energy loss mechanism and
its dependence on the initial parton energy.
