Abstract: "Isospin Effect in Relativistic Collisions of Heavy Nuclei"
Proton-neutron differences appeared to be negligible or
were averaged over when modeling relativistic nuclear
collisions for the CERN SPS and in the early RHIC era.
Some of the isospin effects were taken into account in the
nuclear parton distributions (nPDF) introduced to describe
nuclear modifications of the standard pQCD parton
distributions (PDF). It became clear recently that the
present high-precision data require a more detailed handling
of these differences, well-known from lower energies. For
the interpretation of the experimental results, it is
important to have the uncertainties arising from treating
isospin non-symmetric heavy nuclear systems under control.
Therefore, in this study we investigate the effect of
isospin differences on various measured quantities.
